Vision and aims of organization (200 words max)

SERVICE CIVIL INTERNATIONAL is one of the world’s largest international volunteering organisations with more than ninety years of experience in coordinating international voluntary projects. Through these projects we help break down barriers and prejudices between people of different social, cultural and national backgrounds and promote a culture of peace.

The organisation consists of over 40 local branches and groups and an ever growing number of partner organisations.
Living and working together with people of different backgrounds helps volunteers to break down barriers and prejudices. It allows them to experience a world of mutual respect and understanding. In this sense, volunteering can be seen as a way of life, a demonstration of the possible reality of a peaceful and cooperative world.
SCI offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to people, such as short and long term projects (we have thousands of project all over the world), but also the possibility to become active for a local branch or participate in a seminar or a training (on peace education, environmental sustainability, and many other issues).
