Vision and aims of
organization
The Private Foundation Catalunya Voluntaria is a non governmental, non-profit and non partisan organisation founded in October 2007, though its origins are found in the local youth association Barcelona Voluntaria, established in 1999.

The vision of the FCV is that every young person, without any type of discrimination should have the opportunity to show his/her solidarity and be a volunteer for the benefit of the whole community.

The FCV exists to offer young people the opportunity to develop their competences through their active participation in actions and projects with a positive impact on their communities.

The FCV actively promotes volunteering and voluntary service as a tool to transform society, as an opportunity for active citizenship and for personal
development. We use non-formal intercultural and experiential learning
methods.

Solidarity and voluntary service are valid tools for social, human and economical development and have served as a tool to fight against different types
of discrimination and build more inclusive societies. The FCV is aware
of the benefits of voluntary actions for the entirety of society and
for volunteers themselves.

The FCV facilitates youth participation in international projects and the presence of Catalan organisations in international events and networks.

The FCV collaborates with different NGOs, networks and stakeholders to implement initiatives at regional and international level focused in the promotion of volunteering, NFL, ICL and the culture of peace and social inclusion. The FCV collaborates with other organisations to support young people with fewer opportunities, to participate in international projects and works for the social recognition of volunteering, the culture of peace, NFL and ICL.
