Jobshadowing

This project was designed to help improve future international cooperation between 10 youth-led organizations from around the world, by sending their young leaders to another organisation to follow their activities for a week. Job shadowing is funded by the EU’s Youth in Action Programme.

Learning, sharing and understanding about different realities and issues regarding youth peacebuilding will foster capacity strengthening of all organizations involved. The young people will have a unique chance to visit another country and bring their expertise to new environments. In the period of one year, ten youth leaders from The Hague (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Amarante (Portugal), Cluj Napoca (Romania), Palermo (Italy), Cordoba (Argentina), Nairobi (Kenya), Freetown (Sierra Leone), Accra (Ghana) and Quezon City (Philippines), working on peacebuilding especially related to poverty, social exclusion and gender equality initiatives will engage in jobshadowing exchanges. In addition to the jobshadowing, they will give workshops and trainings, meet with policy-makers to promote their cause and organize a campaign for International Day of Peace on 21 September 2011.
