Advocating

UNOY Peacebuilders is actively working on advocacy. What is it?
Advocacy is the act of pleading or arguing in favor of something, such as a cause, idea, or policy and is an ongoing dynamic process.

Peacebuilding also goes through dialogue with local policy-makers and stakeholders. This is why it is important to train youth to advocate and to encourage them to voice their opinion.

In terms of capacity building, UNOY has organized several training courses related to advocacy. The next training will take place in The Netherlands in July 2011 and will focus on Youth participation through virtual and intercultural dialogue.

UNOY also advocates and campaigns for youth issues.
