Interns testimonies

Being an intern at UNOY is a great opportunity to develop skills in peacebuilding, project management and fundraising and being part of an international team. Read some of our former interns testimonies:

“My main aim in applying to UNOY for an internship was therefore to get a first hand experience of working in the office of an NGO and further my understanding of the opportunities this sector offers. I think that this expectation was entirely fulfilled! Not only was I given both the formal and informal training I needed to effectively work in the team, but I was also granted the freedom to work independently and encouraged to use my creativity to contribute to various ongoing projects. Taking part in one of UNOY’s training conference in the north of the Netherlands was definitely the highlight of my time in the team, where I met many driven young people from across Europe and learned a great deal about project management. Needless to say I would strongly recommend working at UNOY to anyone interested in peace, youth activism or the NGO sector as a whole!”
Sarah (France), Fundraising officer at UNOY June-July 2011

“Being an intern at UNOY Peacebuilders gave me the opportunity to gain work experience within dynamic, international NGO. Within the small team I was given the opportunity to work independently or to cooperate with my colleagues. During my internship period I learned how to coordinate, implement and manage projects. Due to the responsibilities that were given and the non-hierarchical character of the organization I really felt part of the team and a contributor to the great network of UNOY Peacebuilders.
I can recommend an internship programme at UNOY to anyone who is interested in youth work in the Dutch and international development field and who wants to gain insight in the dynamics of working for a small international NGO”
Renske (the Netherlands), Project officer at UNOY January-June 2011
