My name is Filipa Carreira and I am the new Africa Training and Desk Officer at UNOY Peacebuilders. I was born in Portugal but spent most of my life in Mozambique, where I was involved in a project on HIV/AIDS  that was targeted at youth.

I graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, with a Bachelor of Social Science in Political Studies and Policy and Public Administration followed by a Honours degree in International Relations. Last year I graduated from the University of Sheffield, with a MA in Global Security. During my time in the UK I worked with City Hearts, a small organization that provides a temporary safe house for victims of human trafficking.

I am very excited to be starting in this new position at UNOY Peacebuilders as I will be doing work in two areas that I am very interested in such as African social dynamics and conflict prevention.
