UNOY Peacebuilders together with UPACT are planning a seminar called Educating for Peace: Exploring Successes, Challenges and Opportunities in Youth Peace Initiatives, which will be held on the February 4-5, 2012 at the IB Global Centre in The Hague, the Netherlands.
The theme of the seminar is youth peace initiatives in peace education. The first day of the event will be the actual seminar and on the second day parallel workshops are going to be organized to equip the most interested and committed participants with skills that are essential in the field of youth peace education.
The program of the conference and the workshops is currently being shaped, and we guarantee that the topics are going to be very diverse, highly innovative and inspiring! Our goal is to share good practices with the participants, challenge their mind and encourage them to take part in youth initiated actions. For instance, the topics of presentations, panel debates and workshops range from “How can peace education transform civil society?” through “Peace Education in Colombia” to the “Use of Internet in Peace Education”.
The final version of the programme and the call for participants will be published soon on our website. I hope we will see many of you at the conference in February. Until then we will keep up the high work to organize a very successful and interesting conference.
