UNOY is currently developing activities to celebrate the International Day of Peace, Wednesday the 21st of September. The International Day of Peace was established by the United Nations in 1981, and is celebrated all around the world.
This year we are planning to hold week-long celebrations (from the 17th until the 24th of September), including a wide range of activities such as workshops on peace, screenings of peace-related movies and a photo exhibition.
On Saturday the 17th we will be fundraising at The Hermes Tribute Miles Davis Festival, held at the Regentenkamer, in The Hague.
On the International Day of Peace itself, Wednesday the 21st of September, we will be giving out fair-trade roses and peace poems around town, in partnership with the Valentine Peace Project. In the evening, we will be holding a “Jam for Peace” concert and enjoy “Peace cocktails” at Café Quirky, in The Hague. More information to come your way soon!
