The UNOY Peacebuilder’s News Blog is now online, and will keep you informed about upcoming events in your region, UNOY activities and any issues pertinent to youth in peacebuilding. On top of this you can voice your opinions, concerns or even just share something interesting with fellow Peacebuilders by posting on our wall. The News Blog is here to facilitate information sharing and discussion about exciting topics which affect youth across the world. Furthermore, the UNOY Peacebuilders team will constantly update information so we encourage you to keep checking.

The capacity building project for young Peacebuilders from African members of the UNOY Peacebuilders network in Nairobi, Kenya took place in December 2008.

The 9-day training focused on building skills and expertise in the areas of peacebuilding, organisational development, and networking specific to the African region.

On 10th and 11th December 2008, the United Network of Young Peacebuilders Youth Advocacy Team attended an EU conference on Children and Development in the European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium.

On 19th November 2008, 200 countries around the world joined hands together to celebrate the International Day of Children Abuse Prevention. The event was aimed to raise awareness on child violence. On this day, Dinamismo Juvenil organised the ‘Santa Maria la Ribera’ Project. Three workshops were held for girls and boys of different age groups.

UNOY Peacebuilders led a discussion table at the annual Partos Plaza event (11 November 2008) where Dutch development stakeholders (government, consultants, development organizations and NGO’s) exchange ideas and learning experiences.
