In front of the moral, social, ethics and structural situation that takes a long history in our country, professor of several schools of Bogotá D.C. consider in October of 1997 a high-priority to begin a program that it qualified youths to become leaders multipliers of the ideals of the Culture of Peace, the human rights, the Humanitarian International Right and form of manage and transformation of conflicts. This project has been denominated: Escuelas de Paz para jóvenes, redes de formación juvenil en conciencia ciudadana y derechos humanos (Schools of Peace for young people, nets of juvenile formation in city conscience and human rights). At the present time this initiative has been put into practice in several schools of very diverse ranges: private, publics, confessionals and of different place of Bogotá D.C., and of some municipalities of Cundinamarca.

Mission

Energize and execute training, diffusion, information and investigation activities guided toward the construction of the Culture of Peace inside the sphere of the application of the human rights and the Humanitarian International Right, strengthening the learning of principles of the civic participation, the disarmament, the justice, the social development and the management and transformation of conflicts, encouraging a real dignity of people without gender distinction, race, credo, language, age or condition. Foment the formation of leaders able to spread these ideals.

Objective

The general object of the Foundation Schools of Peace is to impelling actions like organization, investigation, edition, projects, consultancies and consultant ships necessary to foment the ideals of the Culture of Peace and to make of the Peace a duty and a right, especially with the new generations of Colombian.

Activities

Invited to the Week for the Peace in the years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Forum Coexistence and Culture of Peace in the School. Week for the Peace. September of 2003. With the participation of more than 250 students and educational from public and private schools of the Capital.
Forum with Parents and Mothers of Family to Think the Rights, our right. Week for the Peace. September 7, 2004. It had the participation of 60 parents and mothers of family of the Candelaria’s municipality for the Diffusion of the Agreement 125 of 2004.
Local Forum of Educational to Think the Rights, our right. Week for the Peace. September 10, 2004. With the participation of more than 700 educational and school directive of public and private institutions of the Capital for the diffusion of the Agreement 125 of 2004, on the implementation of the Class of human rights.
Festival for the Life and the Peace. In September of 2005 it gathered in the Botanical Garden of Bogotá to more than 500 children and girls of the 20 towns of the Capital and of the Municipality of Soacha, representatives of diverse social sectors and communities - children and girls of public and private schools, indigenous, afrocolombianos(as), inhabitants of the street, niños(as) maltratados(as), desplazados(as) and desmovilizados(as) - to share a common space for coexistence, promotion and sensitization of the rights of the girls and the children, through different activities game and artistic.
Schools of park for the Peace 2005-2006. 1st student and juvenile camp for the peace. In the mark of the Week for the Peace summoned in the Park the Florida to 200 youths and teachers of 20 public and private schools of the capital and the Municipality of Soacha looking for sensitize them for their resolved action for the multiplication of administration strategies from the conflict to the interior of their institutions and in their towns / municipalities.
