Peace IT Together is a global campaign with local emphasis, carried out by a network
of enthousiastic youth who believe that a Culture of Peace is not only necessary but possible -
if we do it together. The campaign is action-based and encourages the sharing of knowledge,
skills and experiences to promote active non-violence as an effective approach in building a
Culture of Peace. A
Culture of Peace, as defined by the UNESCO, is a set of values, attitudes, modes of
behaviour and ways of life that reject violence and prevent conflicts by tackling their root
causes to solve problems through dialogue and negotiation among individuals, groups and nations.
This requires new attitudes, a new compelling sensitivity regarding human rights, human dignity
and a deep respect for nature and her infinitive variety. It calls for a sense of global
responsibility and an awareness of the fundamental unity of all mankind.
